How to play the Dsus2 chord on guitar
Dsus2 is D with the 1st string left open: two fingers and a bright, unresolved sound.
The 3D hands holding Dsus2. Switch to 0.5× and turn the guitar to see each finger.
Where the fingers go
- Index finger (1) on the G (3rd) string, fret 2.
- Ring finger (3) on the B (2nd) string, fret 3.
- Let D (4th) and high E (1st) ring open.
- Do not play low E (6th) and A (5th).
Notes in the chord: D – A – E
Tips
- Lift and place the middle finger on the 1st string to move between D and Dsus2. It gives a single chord some movement.
- Strum from the open 4th string.
- It fits almost anywhere D does in folk and pop.
Practise Dsus2 inside a real song
Paste the chords of any song that uses Dsus2, or snap a photo of the sheet. SnapFret plays it with the hands, and you can loop the change you find hardest.
