How to play the Dm7 chord on guitar
Dm7 asks the index finger to press two strings at once, a tiny barre on the 1st fret, which makes it good practice for full barre chords.

Where the fingers go
- Index finger (1) lies across the 2 strings from the B (2nd) to the high E (1st) at fret 1.
- Middle finger (2) on the G (3rd) string, fret 2.
- Let D (4th) ring open.
- Do not play low E (6th) and A (5th).
Notes in the chord: D – A – C – F
Tips
- Roll the index finger slightly onto its side so both the 2nd and the 1st string sound.
- Middle finger on the 3rd string, 2nd fret, arched over the barre.
- Strum from the open 4th string.
